About the Pattern

Grandma Violetta loved flowers! I can’t remember a time we went for a visit where her kitchen wasn’t adorned by planters full of purple violets and pink pansies. Whenever I knit this little flower lace stitch or work with yarn in her favorite floral colors, I’m reminded of her. This cowl joins a collection of accessories designed in Violetta’s honor.
The cowl is worked from the top down and a perfect stash-buster! The pattern calls for a generous 18” cowl but you can customize the length so it’s perfect for you. The three-color Linen Stitch is the perfect palette to play with color and be creative. A great accessory to keep you warm during winter and accent your  outfits during transitional seasons.

Approximately 10 oz (265 g)/980 yds (895 m) total of fingering weight sock yarn in 4 colors; 1 light tonal for the cast-on and bandana, 3 coordinating tonal or speckle colors in dark, medium, and light tones for the Linen St cowl. The sample uses Midknit Cravings Yarn Company, Sweet Sock (80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon; 4 oz/115 g, 425 yds/388 m per skein).
